Really like the creative approach. It is amazing how old shoes can make an art piece.

In keeping with my "in the box" effort, I decided a couple of pairs of shoes might be interesting. Again, this was an attempt to create a "moody" light much like you'd see in an "Old Masters" painting. I have lots of shoes, but thought I'd stick to some that look well worn...and convert one to black and white for a change.

clever title and beautiful work, vicki!!

Nice work. I like the color images better than the b & w although I am a fan of b &W (reminds me of my early film days).

I thought I'd try B&W just for a change, and like you, it reminded me of my early film days. I never felt very comfortable with it then or now.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment. I appreciate it.

You hav an eye for this, Vicki!

I'm having fun seeing how much I can push the experiment. I'll be hading back outside again when the interest wears off. There's a garden about an hour away that begs to be photographed.

As always, thanks for the visit my friend. It's always good to hear from you.

The artist in you has definitely come out, Vicki. I like them all.

Thanks so much Ken. I did a painting of a friends's shoes a few years ago and titled it "Sole Mates." The shoes were quite literally falling apart, and I had volunteered to deliver them to the repair shop (after I got some quick reference photos ).

I like the 2nd one the best, Vic. I don't know how to verbalize my thoughts (I'm extremely tired), but I don't really care much for the black & white version.
Not enough contrast perhaps?

Thanks for the evaluation, Tom. I appreciate the time you've taken for these shots.

Many thanks Doddy. I don't think #3 will win any prizes, but I decided to try something different with that one.

#2 is my choice. For some reason I don’t like the white shoes in the first one.

I agree with you PCB. After spending some time today with more shoes, I don't care for the white ones in that shot. It seemed like a good idea at the time....

Nice still-life arrangements again, Vicki. You’re getting a lot of mileage out of that box. Congrats to you.

I'm grateful for your thoughtful reply, John. I'll be posting more shoes later today and have a couple of other ideas to try before retiring the box. Stay tuned....
