Dunnock on a Fence rail.
The following pics are a selection from Pics I took a few days ago. I am inviting comments please. The bird was not more than 10ft away sitting on a fence very confiding and did not budge for ages. The shot was taken a at about 5.00 in the after noon- skies were partly cloudy but there was ample sunlight. I am presenting them as Before PP and After pp. There is a huge difference I think between the pre and post. I would not have expected that sort misty look that both of the pre pp are showing. The pp shots are OK I think but would value some thoughts here.
Nikon D3300 - Nikon AF-P 70-300mm 1:4.5- 6.3G ED
1) 1/400sec, F6.3, 300mm, ISO -400
2) 1/400sec, F6.3, 300mm, ISO -360
The originals look flat, muddy and underexposed. PP brought back some of the color, contrast and exposure. Much better!
First of all nice capture of a cute little bird. I think first of all I would have backed off on the zoom. You would have had more DOF with the lens at, say, 150mm but perhaps you wanted the soft foreground and background. The PP is spot on I think except you cut off the tail of the second one.

Thanks for your comments - yeah pity about chopping the tail off. I am wondering if only zooming to 150mm would have made any difference to the background which was literally only inches away from the subject ?

I think you processing is excellent. The detail in these is very nice. They are both cute shots.
