I can’t say for what others have said. I didn’t want to be tied to a monthly fee so I use only affinity. I am far from a professional but affinity on an iPad Pro does everything I need it to do. I can’t imagine something that would be needed that affinity can’t do. I think a lot of it is what you are used to.

That is basically correct. The only thing it is weak on is raw file processing. However, for most people Affinity's built in Develop persona, which processes raw files, is sufficient for their needs.

Wait… are you advocating most people should shoot raw then use “auto develop” ? That defeats the whole purpose of shooting “raw”.

Here is a little more detail regarding my earlier statement. I am saying that Affinity's raw processor, the Develop persona is a weak module with limited functionality for raw shooters compared to Lightroom, Adobe Camera Raw, Capture One, DXO PhotoLab and all the other top tier raw processors. I believe that for most users of Affinity this lack of features in the Develop persona probably won't be a major issue. However, those users who require more full featured raw processing should select one of the better standalone raw processors available and then pass the processed image to Affinity photo for further raster processing.
