Bird ID Heron?

Back in early June, I caught these photos at Manitou Lake northwest of Colorado Springs. I think it is a heron but the colors don't seem to fit with what I can find online. Perhaps an immature one?

Didn't know there were pelicans in Colorado. We were going crazy going through the egrets and herons sections in our birding books.
The photos were shot on an Olympus E-M1m3 with their 100-400 telephoto zoom with the 1.4x teleconverter. Still learning on using this setup for BIF.
