Hey all,
New guy here checkin' in. I'm in the coastal South Carolina area and my main area of photography interest is birds and other wildlife including alligators.
Just to start things off here's a shot from last week of a Roseate Spoonbill taking off from up out of the salt marsh as the tide is coming in.
Thanks,
Phil
Welcome Phil.
Great job on the Roseate Spoonbill. I like the action you captured.

I usually make it up to MB once a year, where are you capturing these bird shots?? I need tons of practice capturing wildlife...

No I've never been there, but I understand there are many excellent bird and wildlife opportunities available in TX, especially in the gulf coast area. Good luck!

I do a lot of bird photography ay Huntington Beach State Park in the Murrells Inlet area, across from Brookgreen Gardens.
It's quite a unique location since it is right on the ocean. This provides a salt marsh, large brackish pond, and brackish swamp as well as the beach. Many species of birds arrive there and often provide up close and personal photo ops.

Oh I've got birdies!! Might go out later today to check out low tide in the salt marsh. Sadly though I believe our visiting roseate spoonbills have fled the coop and gone farther south for the season so no more spoonies until (hopefully) July 2012.
Thanks for your kind comments!
