WHAT is wrong with ALL of you... ITS a word. Nothing to do with NPR, ABC, ACLU or anything else... IT IS A WORD; an intensifier. Time to move on...

"Is it correct to say irregardless?

However, “irregardless” is not considered a real word by most dictionaries, and it should be avoided in formal or academic writing. “Irregardless” is seen as incorrect because it adds the prefix “ir-,” which usually expresses negation, but actually means the same thing as regardless, not the opposite. There do appear to be dictionaries which allow its use as a nonstandard form of "regardless". (This, I believe, is for those who have no concern for the proper utilization of that which once was the English language!)

With respect to the use of ”ir” as an irirregular intensifier prefix, one cannot be irIrresolute, but must be irirreconcilable, irirrespective of irIrremeable though irirrelevant views of the purist grammarians, who refuse iriresistably to abandon their irirrational and irirreverent position.

The use of irregardless is irritating.

Loads of top pros use OEM lenses and love the IQ, ruggedness, performance and value. So what's your point?

My point is obvious from my post, that there are equally great choices in top quality lenses from third-party lens makers nowadays and at less cost. Sure I have OEM Sony G and GM lenses that I love, but I also have Sigma Art and Tamron lenses that are superb in IQ and performance also. And the savings I have made with these excellent third-party lenses has helped me buy more gear.

I am NOT an OEM or nothing person or snob, not when there are superb third-party lenses to also choose from. I buy and use the best gear for the best price. Sometimes that is an excellent GM lens, sometimes it is an excellent third-party lens

How can such an intelligent guy like you not get the point here. Pros use BOTH excellent OEM and excellent third-party "Art" lenses for their IQ, ruggedness, performance and value.

But often pros can save some money with excellent third-party lenses like "Art" lenses without sacrificing that IQ, ruggedness, performance and value, as I and many of my fellow pros around the world have done for years now. And those "Art" lens savings can add up to more great gear for the same budget.

BTW, this thread is about Sigma Art lenses, not OEM lenses. Please take off your OEM lenses-only blinders, Bill. LOL

Cheers and best to you Bill, love your work.

Since computer designed lenses happened they are all pretty good - unless you are using a tripod and a cable release and a really good lens shade I doubt if you will see much difference - I cringe when I see someone hand holding with no lens shade
