When we refer to someone as a millionaire it is usually meaning that they have a total worth of a million and not that they have that amount in ready cash. The business entrepeneurs will have the majority of their money invested in enterprises similarly to the farmers who may appear "cash poor" but are "dirt rich". My view is that inflation in my lifetime means that a million pounds sterling isn't what it was when I was born. Many domestic homes in London now sell for over £1million and many public projects are costed in billions rather than millions.
