Another difficult restoration...
I was driving back to Southern Cal from a Texas trip and got a text from an old friend asking me if I could work on an obituary photo for a family she's working with. I was on the road back on Monday and she needed it by Friday and sent me a fairly small file taken with her cell phone. I knew it wouldn't be easy at first sight and initially wasn't going to do it due to time restraints. I had another obit- project for my wife's mother to work on. Needless to say I took up the challenge and met the deadline late Thursday.
Here are the results and comments are welcome.
Process: Imported the image into Camera RAW. Enhanced the image with the new super resolution feature. moved it into photoshop and proceeded from there.
Side note: I usually ask for the original so I can do a High res photo in RAW as a working copy. Time didn't allow for this on this project so although I'm not entirely happy with the results I feel I did pretty good with what I had.

Very nice job on that image, Daniel!

I think you did a fine job under the constraints you had to deal with. I think any short coming will definitely be over looked by the grieving family. I would say you went above and beyond.
Excellent work and very kind of you to help the lady out. Funerals are a trying time for the families of the departed, and even small kindnesses are usually remembered with gratitude.
Really a great piece of work, Daniel. Congrats on the restoration!
