My wife picked this up decades ago at a garage sale for a quarter. Had no idea what it was, it just looked unusual. Does anyone know what it is, or was used for?
Would it be to quarter apples?????
No idea how large it is (or isn't).
Radish cutter?
I'm 90, been around a lot, Far East, Europe etc plus all over the US: WC, EC, South, NE all around the MW etc. Never saw anything like that. Harry

My thought also. When I was kid in the 50's my first set had points just like regular darts, only much larger.
I also had a friend who was really bad at aiming with them. That thing hurt when it hit my arm. Fortunately he also had a weak throwing arm so it barely broke the skin. After that I stood behind him when he was throwing.
It's a chopper the red end is a handle. My grandmother used one to chop walnuts. If I remember right it came with a bowl kind of like a mortar and pestle

Also a strong possibility.

I think you are correct.
I ordered a salad the other day from Subway and they used one to chop up the ingredients.

I tend to agree with you that it is a chopper.
I've seen similar cutters. It will cut something - an apple, maybe - into four sections. I can't find pictures of similar items, though.

Some sort of hand chopper, my mother's kitchen had one, never saw it used.
