Thanks GreyOwl40 - I'm glad you liked it and appreciate your very nice comments. I have (and loved) a D3S and D800E, but was very curious about the new Nikon mirrorless cameras. Seeing as the Z50 was about $1,000 with the 16-50 lens, I thought it was probably the least expensive way to try mirrorless, and if I didn't like it I could sell it and get a good portion of the purchase price back.
Long story short, I haven't used my other cameras since I got the Z50. Seeing the exposure in the viewfinder before taking the shot was worth the price of admission (for me) all by itself. The 16-50 is very sharp, much much better than I expected for a kit lens. I'm completely pleased with this little camera, and love the image quality. I've blown up and printed several images to 16x24, and they look great even at pixel peeping distances.
IMHO, this camera and lens are an absolute bargain and I'm loving the mirrorless experience.
Hope that was helpful.
