SX2002
Loc: Adelaide, South Australia
Taken over at Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park when we stayed there.
Nikon D500
Sigma 150-600mm (900mm = 35mm equivalent)
Hand held, there is no way I could have panned this fast using a gimbal.
This Crested Tern flew parallel to the beach and I just focused on the first shot and kept the shutter pressed (5 frames/second speed mode) and panned as it flew past about 50-70 meters away.
Not sure if I could do it again though...I always wonder what would have happened if I'd had the D500 set to 10 frames/second
YOU NAIL ENERY FRAME
OUTSTANDING LENS WORK
LIKE THE LAST ONE BEST
like pronticol (miss/sell)
You nailed it. At 10 fps, you would probably have 10 clear shots. I’d suggest leaving your D500 on the high burst speed for your next outing, to see how you like it.
A great sequence.
I find these shots to be very encouraging as I have the same lens.
