Roadtrip Part 27

Today's we continue our drive from Dodge City Ks and make our way East along Hwy 400 to our final pitstop,Springfield,Mo. Our last overnight before arriving home. First stop was just outside of Mullinville Kansas where we spotted a huge plot of land with the most insteresting ironworks art I've ever seen. Many of the pieces were animated by the wind blowing. Google M.T. Liggett American Folk Artist to get the backstory on this place. The artist died in 2017 but his work will live on because the property will be turned into a visitor's center and art shop for local artist. Anyway, we stopped and walked the quarter mile along the highway to see the iron sculptures up close. It's worth a stop if you ever find yourself in that area. The second stop was close to Avilla,Mo where we photographed some RT 66 murals etc. Tomorrow I will continued on with the murals of Springfield Mo to end our trip.

You find parts of the U.S. that I do not know even exist. Keep it coming.

Mike, it's out there. Ya gotta slow down and hit the backroads to your next destination. Ya just never know what you might see around the next curve or small town.

When we moved to Idaho in 2002, we went crazy traveling, because we could, unlike here in Alaska where there is a limited road system. Traveling is something we miss since moving back 10 years ago. So I appreciate your travelogue chronically your trip with all those interesting photos. It would make a great printed album. Again thanks for sharing the trip. Have a great day.
