The Wedge in Newport Beach California

When I was a teen in the 60's my favorite surfing haunts was Huntington beach near the pier and on occasion when we were feeling particularly stupid, we'd try the wedge at Newport. I remember a hundred people standing around watching a few guys surf or boggie. On one occasion I was one of the stupid ones, just once--lesson learned.

Some people use the word "brave" or "skillful" and others use the word "stupid". If you survive, you are brave and skillful.
