Thank goodness I only have 99 employees...

Putting a size threshold on the vax/testing mandate makes sense if you're trying to limit the impact of your stupid decree on small businesses, but for most OSHA regs, it's a bit strange.

There are a few rules regarding facilities that have company size thresholds, but most don't. If your ladder is so high, you need a cage. It doesn't matter if you work by yourself or have 1 million employees. If you have this chemical, you have to have an eye-wash station. Working above this height, you have to be tied off. You have to provide hearing protection and all manner of PPE if it's necessary at no cost to your workers. If they need hearing protection, they have to have annual hearing tests. The list of OSHA rules is nearly endless.

So now Biden is saying, it's really important for US safety that your employees are v******ted or tested. In reality, it's really a nag order that says, you will test twice a week, but in lieu of testing your staff can get v******ted. The stick is constant testing and there is no carrot. It doesn't matter if your company works with the public, it only matters that your company crosses that magical 100 employee number.

I predict this will not happen.

I see smaller businesses laying off people to get to 99 total employees.

I think that's unlikely in this labor environment.

Like the v*****e hold-outs, you conflate the necessities of public health and public safety with inapt concerns. Businesses affected by government mandates fulfilling health and safety requirements will incorporate same within their business models.

I don't think you work for a living now or maybe ever. And calling a working person's concern over losing his liberty and pursuit of a living as "inapt concerns" shows an un-American Marxist philosophy, or maybe you are just a pure Democrat.

OSHA seems to be the only lever Biden has to quickly move the corporate rock on v******tion mandates. it's the political equivalent of making a four-bumper pool shot. His call for an OSHA rule is arbitrary based on the company size threshold. I'm pointing out that OSHA does not address safety arbitrarily, ever. The kind of things OSHA regulates based on the number of employees are items like the number of bathroom stalls in a facility.

Your response is completely incoherent, but then, you've proven more than once you're not that bright.

You’re a true believer in the power of the State, aren’t you? Do you even work? Fortunately, my company is going to fight this, in court if need be. They see it as a massive overreach by the government in the guise of public safety. Since this p******c started, our business has been open under essential business mandates. In that time, we have had 3 people get C***D, and the extent of their infections were headaches that lasted three or four days. And for that, you think the rest of us should be required to get something injected into our bodies, against our will, just to make you have a feel good moment? Why aren’t you b***hing about i*****l a***ns the State you worship are letting in with C***D? There have been 166,000 serious reactions on people getting the v*****e in the U.S., and 16,000 fellow Americans have died from it. And you think we should take it, just to give you a nice fuzzy feeling about yourself? I don’t think so.

OSHA seems to be the only lever Biden has to quick... (show quote)

Biden knows that most large corporations will comply with the rule before OSHA even writes it and he knows that most small businesses won't.

I believe that he already knows that the supreme court will rule against it just like they ruled against his eviction moratorium. But, by the time the case makes it's way through the court system a whole bunch of people will have already been forced to either get v******ted or lose their jobs because the courts will not hear the case until the OSHA rule is written and in effect. However, big business was looking for cover, and Biden has given it to them.

They don't care if the rule makes sense and they don't care if it is legal. They chose that size business because they think that most businesses that size and larger will comply even before the rule is actually written.

As far as OSHA is concerned you are correct. They do not care about the size of a business. They treat a one man business the same as a large corporation.

When I was in college I once saw an OSHA inspector try to fine a small business owner for having a cracked windshield on his excavator. He had no employees. He tried to argue with the OSHA inspector to no avail, then instead of giving up, he took a hammer and broke out his windshield completely. The OSHA inspector was left speechless, because at that time they had failed to write into rule that your excavator had to have a windshield, only that it couldn't have a cracked windshield.

OSHA does not and should not care about the size of a business. If the action is unsafe it is unsafe no matter the size of the business. And, since v******tions are free, there is no cost to the business, so they can't use the excuse that small business can't afford it. It's all about getting sheep to comply.

Your accusations find no root with me. I can see instead that you deflect from my point.

The public health and the public safety stand foremost over the claim that somehow going along with v******tion impinges personal freedom. I stick with the view that science and politics should not mix.

You might consider that the American population for decades has received v******tions for fending off awful diseases -- and without curbing personal freedom.

Yes, and we have all had them. That’s not the point. This v*****e is an m**A v*****e, which has never been used on humans before. Plus it hasn’t gone through as much human testing as it should have before being approved by the FDA. There have been some 166,000 adverse effects by Americans from getting this v*****e, and 14,000 have died from it. Why should I take a v*****e that could k**l me for a disease that could k**l me? I’ll take my chances without it, thank you very much.

Your opinion would carry more weight if you provided support for it. Otherwise, it appears half-baked.

I suggest visiting this Web-site for a discussion of the m**A v*****e: https://www.cdc.gov/c****av***s/2019-ncov/v*****es/different-v*****es/m**a.html

Surely, plenty of other info exists on the Internet for learning about m**A v*****es.

You're deflecting from the point and I know because I started this thread. Using OSHA to make it onerous for medium to large businesses to have unv******ted staff is not the proper way to force those unv******ted in our country to get the jab. It is arbitrary and will not stand. Biden is counting on businesses to fold like cheap card tables before the rule (yet to be written, I might add) is overturned by the courts. It is a s**tty way to get things done.

I have read plenty of articles, including many medical articles, about the M**A v*****e that my wife brings home. Neither one of us is going to get it.
