Pretty amazing. I’m impressed by the detail. Can’t wait for to stop snowing here so I can give it a shot.

We’ve got a red tailed hawk flying around that can pretty elusive.

The 7c I have is capable.
I really liked the ergonomics on the A7 V. The lock on eye autofocus was better. Just not ready to pull the trigger. The lens was a nice start for improving my wild life photography.

I really like my Sony 200-600m maybe some day I'll get the 1.4x . You may might want to look at a used A9 or A9ii. I sold my a7iii for a used A9 and it is phenomenal. super fast focus. Also pretty good at Star photography.

Very nice shot. I have both the Sony 1.4X and 2X TCs which I use with both my 200-600mm and my 70-200mm f2.8 GM I.

Here a shot, A9, 200-600mm lens with 1.4X at 840mm, a previous years' shot of same kids being pulled by speedboat on Brookings Lake, Manistee National Forest, USA.

Cheers and best to you.

Thanks. Yes that 200-600mm is super sharp with great image quality, no worries at all. You will do fine with the A7C and when you are ready to pull the trigger on the A7V, there will be many nice used and new ones waiting for you.

No matter your wildlife shooting experience, I recommend you check out Sony wildlife shooting tips on youtube from Mark Galer, Mark Smith, Colby Brown, Stefan Malloch and others.

One tip, as Stefan says in his video, don't be afraid to use high ISO with your 200-600mm if you need the high shutter speed to freeze BIF and you are at f6/3 at 600mm.

Your A7C is good with high ISO. . Use the settings you need to get the shot, and then if needed use great programs like Topaz Denoise AI or DXO PureRaw to get rid of any high ISO noise. They really work.

Cheers and best to you.

Thanks, I’m sure the 1.4x will be great on either the a9 or a1.

The Sony 1.4X TC would also work fine on the OP's A7C with his new 200-600mm lens, no problem.
