This weekend Bristol PA. has a tall ship festival. The ship on display was the Kalmer Nyckel which is a full scale replica of the original Dutch merchant ship that brought Swedish settlers to North America in 1638. These settlers established the colony of new Sweden (now known as Delaware).

Close up the ships figurehead and carvings are simply beautiful.

The water is brown as a result of the impact of hurricane Ida.

I enjoyed these images, my grandmother came from Sweden in 1895.

Excellent photos of a beautiful ship - We complain about being locked down for a month or so; when they came across the Atlantic Ocean at best it took six weeks at the worst three months. I hope they brought a book
