There Is No Distortion Here....
....its just that your eyes are round instead of flat.
And they're round because you're looking at (glorious) downtown Thompson Springs. Which itself is very, very flat.
That must be the corner store. Interesting place.
I confuse easily but the round/flat soliloquy has me spinning. Never a good thing in my case.
Love the slices of history you present to us Jim. Thanks for sharing.

Downtown Ghost Town? . .
Though this is indeed one view of the downtown area, you can bet your life (much the same as others had, to their less than fortunate detriment) that Thompson Springs is
not a Ghost Town. Lots of people live there. Lots and lots. Maybe even as many as fifty (but I really don't know; there might be significantly fewer). Furthermore --as we speak!--, TS is in the active state of being rejuvenated. The orange brick building you see on the extreme right? That's the diner (or what had been the diner right up until the moment it closed some 20 years or more ago). Signs in the windows declare that its Grand Re-Opening will take place in 2022. Don't know whether or not it'll resume its role as being The Town Diner though (it could just as easily become a Gucci Outlet Store, or a Tiffany showroom where weary travelers can stop and buy diamonds), but even from the outside (the windows are all covered over, so...), its possible to see numerous improvements that have been perpetrated in recent weeks.
Otherwise, several of the residences in town (not shown in this picture) are sure to have indoor toilets and such.

Maybe so, but after all this time, the bodies are probably so far decomposed that whatever laws and statutes there may be in place against necrophilia probably wouldn't even apply any more. Would you like for me to try to find out more for you? I'm very adept at the google.
So, I guess I would never see you hanging around in Cisco when you have such a upscale place as this. Where is the Opera house?
Geez, I hope that's not the Saloon!
