This is on the Wyoming and Colorado border, where in 1831 the Blackfeet used the rock formations as a defense position against the Crow. Jim Beckworth a mountain man who was with the Crow he had married into the tribe. They were hunting buffalo when they confronted the Blackfeet. The Crow won the battle after several days of battle.
This shot was taken last night, the glow in the background is from the from range cities of Colorado.
