Hi everyone,

I've been using an Olympus FE-140 for a long time. Bought a second one on fleabay for cheap. One of its major problems is that the battery compartment doors break on these and you can't lock them. Good used is okay if the seller guarantees it. I'd get something fancier but I'm overwhelmed with auto problems and the cost of parts.

Thanks and be well

For a camera like that why not use your cell phone?
The cell phone has zoom that is similar or better, better IQ and fits in a pocket better and you likely have one already.

Look at Sony's multiple options as "CyberShots". I've had one back to the mid 2000s, they range from cheap through expensive new, plenty of used on ebay. Canon' competes with less total models called "PowerShots" that tend to be range just from medium to expensive, again find options current and those replaced, then look on ebay.

Not a bad little camera. Unfortunately most of the ones listed were for parts only / missing the charger or otherwise incomplete. :-(

Look a MPB or KEH as other used-seller options.

Look for an Olympus Tough - any from the last few years will do.

I have an Olympus Tough 870 and carry it everywhere. Great camera. They are very "tough" too, been dropped, dunked, sat on, you name it and it still works like new.

I have had several Sony Cybershot cameras over the years and always found them to be very good. I still have one I carry in a zip-lock bag when I am out kayaking.

When you say you "don't like" a cell phone, does that mean that you cannot figure out the technology or that you don't want to be saddled with a monthly cellular bill? A Sony Cybershot will be much less expensive than a good cell phone.

An Iphone 12. Hear the camera is superb.

Tired of lugging my Nikon 7100 around the world, I put it away three years ago.

Since then I have used my Iphone X . I only display my photos on my computer and can not see the difference between my Nikon and Iphone shots.

I take the following camera with me on every vacation and Viking trip. Takes wonderful images and has a very sharp 24-750 mm ZEISS lens. Pop up viewfinder and also does great pans.

The first place I'd check for good used point and shoot cameras. Really good folks to do business with and really fair prices:

I use an iPhone ProMax 12. When I don't care to carry around my Canon R6 the iPhone does a great job.

Try Goodwill auction site. I picked up a Canons 95 for about $20 and a Lumix FZ35 for $10 (plus shipping).
