I often visit a local park to walk with my gear in tow. On this day driving out there I was looking at the light with the sun high in the sky, the haze hanging in the air and thinking it's going to be a hot one; I almost turned around to go home. But lucky for me I continued and stepped out of the car and there was a nice breeze and not as much haze either (must have been looking through a dirty windshield). It was really quite but managed to get lucky on a few shots.

Really nice series! The Kestrel is a beautiful colored raptor. The flying Kingfisher is a great capture.

Thank you for your kind words. I really got lucky on these birds. There was a pair of them squabbling over territory and kept flying in circles squawking at each other right over my head. I got at least 30 really good shots but liked this one the best for the back lit wings fully extended.

Yes it is good. Sometimes perseverance and patience is best.
Thank you.
Love the Kingfisher. So sharp. Not easy to do with a bird in flight. Well done.
