Homestead?

I was told by locals that this is a homestead settled by a Polish family. The descendants still own much of the land and many have built summer cabins here. As is so often the case some folks who pass by feel free to trespass and plunder the family's possessions.

I agree with JohnnyDW. If ever there was a scene made of B/W, this one is. Imagine how hard life must have been for the immigrant Polish family. This image answers it.

Thank you, this place is about 25 miles from any other community and in winter the roads are often impassable. One needed to be pretty self sustaining.
