All available at the same time.
TL introduced in 1968, F-1 and FTb in 1971 and EF in 1973.
Just an interesting bit of history.
Walk into a camera store (Not very common today) and you could handle and try any one of them or all before making a purchase.
All could use the FL and FD lenses as well as the R lenses which were all the same mount with enhanced features as technology progressed.

I remember the Pelix & the QL that came prior to these models.....never had or used these versions. I didn't switch to digital until the Rebel series emerged and then jumped-in and currently enjoy the 6D MKII at the moment.

Have had a Nikon D90 but remain a Canon fan 53 years,now.

I used to love my FTb but I would never want to go back to it. It literally rang like a bell at shutter speeds slower than 1/60th!

You might have had this camera unless it was a Canonet P&S QL camera.
This was the predecessor to the FTb.
I have never physically seen the Pellix camera.

I used mine a couple of weeks ago.
Yes, they are louder than modern cameras.

I bought a silver Ftb in 1972, I think. Loved that camera!
Now in the curio cabinet with my AE-1.

I would ask you to try something: fire the shutter at various speeds from high to low. I remember with mine that the shutter sounded normal from 1/1000 to 1/60 sec., but at speeds of 1/30 sec. and below, the camera made a faint bell-like ringing sound after the shutter finished its travel. (You might have to hold it close to your ear to hear it.) This tells me that the camera continued to vibrate after the shutter was closed. Does yours do the same?

Nice collection. I shot my first Canon in 1968 - an FT-QL. Also used a Pelix in 69. Sold all my FD Mount bodies and lenses a couple of years ago except for the new F1, which I still have.

FYI - I tried mine. Other than the buzz from the timer, and the mirror slap noise, no bell type sound.

I can't quite make out the lens on the TL. I cannot believe what I think I'm seeing.

Thank you in advance

I do hear a quiet ring when I physically hold it against my ear. But once I pull it away I no longer hear it. I know my hearing is still very good in my left ear as I have them tested regularly. Right was damaged from too much shooting in the service.
So yes there is a ringing and different issues likely varied in the amount of the sound.

The lens mounted on the TL is the standard FL 50mm f1.8 Canon lens.
The F-1 has the FL 58mm f1.2 Canon lens.
The EF has the FD 50mm f1.4 Canon lens (Not the newer SSC version).
The FTb has the New FD 50mm f1.8 Canon lens (The version where it is still FD but the whole lens turns instead of just the breech ring, same mount though and fully useable on all R, FL and FD bodies.
