I have a Godox for my Sony model and Canon models for my Canon. The Godox is everywhere as sophisticated, but just not as ruggedly build. Indoors / studio, wouldn't likely be an issue. Used everywhere, maybe the Godox won't hold up as long.

I have used the Yongnuo clone of the Canon 600 for a few years and it works great. They are so much alike I can follow hints and tips for the Canon that I find on line. Canon 600, current version = $449 Yongnuo current model = $138

Plus one the Yongnuo can't beat the performance for the price.

If you are considering Godox, then check out Flashpoint sold by Adorama. Flashpoint are the same models as Godox, made by Godox but rebranded for Adorama. Godox customer support is virtually non-existent, while Adorama offers customer service for Flashpoint.

Yep, I have same, and except for the names on the cases and the price, I can’t tell any difference - the Yongnuo is an exact clone of the 600-RT at ~1/4 the price In fairness, I don’t subject either to heavy use, so can’t speak to the long term reliability.

Same here plus the Yongnuo radio controller which works seamlessly with the 600-RT as well.

Of those, my personal choice is Godox. I've been using their equipment on my Nikon to power up to 4 strobes rather nicely.

Yep an exact duplicate of the Canon at a fraction of the price. They also make a small, inexpensive (<$25) external receiver for use with the controller that has relay contacts out that I use to trigger my old Novatron strobes.

I have some Godox V860 flashes for the Canon EOS system. They come with a proprietary rechargeable battery that lasts long. I think they are equal to or better than the Canon brand flashes and are loaded with features. They are very inexpensive compared to the camera brands and have never failed me. The build quality seems very good.

Godox speedlights for Canon will have model numbers ending with "C", such as Godox TT685C and Godox V1-C.

I agree. I don't normally shoot with flash unless I am doing macro.
