Having noticed that there was a paucity of Monarch Butterflies here in Central Florida I purchased Milkweed plants and "voila" , within a few days we had eggs deposited and 4-5 days later caterpillars. In the last 2 months we've released 17 Monarchs into the wild and are now frequently seeing them around the neighborhood. We have been naming each of them for a famous or infamous monarch. The last 2 captures are males that you could crown (name) for me....

If you could bend down and listen closely to the last Monarch you could here him singing:"I'm enery the eighth I am
I am" Gorgeous shots, Victor!

Reconvic, These images are exceptional. You should be pleased for all your efforts with the Monarchs. They can use all the human help they can get. Hope your Monarchs missed the wrath of the hurricane.

If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem...besides, it's great fun! Thanks, Kip!

Thank you, Barn Owl! Yep, unfortunately we've had 4 born with a protozoan parasite that is prevalent here in Florida....I still think we're protecting and helping propagate the species!
