DAMN ! You are making me homesick ! I have been over the Rt. 60 ride, several times, from Gauley Bridge to Hawks Nest, taking in the New River Bridge.
I was impressed with the nimbleness of the Goldwing.
Thanks for posting these. I'm going to send them to some friends back in West Virginia.
I have been in Florida, too long. ALL the roads, down here, are flat as a pancake and straight as a die.

You'll have to "copy and paste" the Google Map links I've included for you to peruse......

Thanks for your nice response.....where is your farm located? I still have property on Teaberry Road (State Rte. 45).....the backroad from Lewisburg to Ronceverte....that's a hair raising 5 mile journey........a lot of twisties and steep in several places....only a two lane country road and the folks that live there make it a speedway....even me in my younger days...... There's some places where you can view the great Greenbrier River Valley......and, "Rudy's" resturant in Ronceverte has a great hambuger and serve a great breakfast.....you can make that a side trip on your way up 219........you will also find that Rte. 63 from Ronceverte to Alderson (and Hinton and beyond) is a great motorcycle ride......it follows the river from Fort Springs to Hinton (where you'll find the Bluestone Dam and impoundment).....traveling on West from Hinton, you'll intersect I-64 at the Sandstone Welcome Center...

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ronceverte,+WV&daddr=37.7271669,-80.64824+to:37.66675,-80.88925+to:Lewisburg,+WV&hl=en&ll=37.753344,-80.555878&spn=0.495123,0.958557&sll=37.706097,-80.831223&sspn=0.24772,0.740891&geocode=FVQEQAId_Ds0-ynfdSiV7DdMiDGrlKk_IV6yUA%3BFb6rPwId0Gcx-ymVZIkUMS5MiDGObGGpoDp1Jg%3BFb6_PgIdXrot-ynZpJPJ14BOiDF-gCk7ouIr8A%3BFTzPQAIdQn80-ykXy428bUdMiDFHjXSxZJYkMw&mra=dpe&mrsp=2&sz=11&via=1,2&t=m&z=10 (80 mile trip)..

then back to Lewisburg....or cut off and travel up through Meadow Bridge to US-60 and take it back into Lewisburg...a great ride out through the farmland.....

Simon and Monika Newbound are long distance motorcyclists from the United Kingdom.
In May 2002, husband and wife Simon and Monika Newbound departed from Dublin, Ireland on one of the greatest endurance challenges ever attempted. Their goal was to ride two BMW motorcycles continuously until they had exceeded the existing Guinness World Record of .
On 25 October 2003 the Newbounds completed a full circumnavigation of the earth. Their route went eastward from Sligo, Ireland to St. John's, Newfoundland, via Norway, Moscow, Siberia, Tokyo and Toronto, Canada. During the Newbound's world record challenge they crossed 54 countries. They rode their BMW F650GS and R1150GS bikes above the Arctic Circle three times. They visited every state and province in United States and Canada, which included crossing the North American continent five times.
In October 2005 Guinness World Records formally acknowledged that the Newbounds had not only broken the existing world record, but extended it by almost taking the new world record to .
Neither had experience of motorcycle mechanics, and Monika has never undertake a long distance trip before. They achieved the world record without a support team or support vehicles.

SILVERHAWK .................
I sure like your West Virginia motorcycle rides.
I've been in Florida for so long that those curves look scarey, now. Florida has no curves.
There is a "T" shirt out, that mocks the "Tail Of The Dragon". It says "319 Miles - 11 curves".
