Best of Luck riding this thing out.

My oldest son and daughter both got deployed to Houston after Harvey with "Team Rubicon". She is in Medical School and not likely to go but he is Army Reserve and might get a call to go.

Yes my old home state took quite a beating. Brothers are still there. No power or water at present time. They are in the Mandeville area. Had my share with Betsy, Camille and Katrina. Hurricanes are not nice!

It’s a huge mess, major damage everywhere you look! I’m 76 and I’ve witnessed destruction from Camille, Betsy, Katrina and more but I have never seen so much total devastation to the power grid, trees and power poles are down everywhere you look. I’ve got a generator and have exhausted all the stored fuel I had and there is no gas to be had anywhere in the area. People need fuel to survive, hope the government can transport some in. There was major damage to seven Louisiana refineries to make things worse.
Keep us in your prayers.

Do you have natural gas or propane available? If so, you can order a natural gas conversion kit for your generator that converts it tri fuel - gasoline, natural gas or propane. Easy to install (the gas injector bolts between the carb and the intake manifold) and about $200. Not sure if you can get delivery where you are, but maybe worth a try if you’re without power for weeks. We lost power for 2 weeks in Hurricane Fran. Amazon has them. Mine came from this company: https://www.uscarburetion.com/

Thanks for the info, wish I had known about this earlier, it would have been a wise investment.
Lucky After a few days of conserving our remaining fuel we had some wonderful news, my dear friend who’s home is on the fringes of Ida’s devastated area had her power restored and we were able to take refuge at her place today.

I am so glad to hear that. Recovery after a hurricane is a real grind.

Stay well,
Chris
