That can happen when you trust Aperture priority on a back-lit shot.
Based on Sunny 16 it's actually overexposed by about 5 stops. 1/3200s would have been better. The white feathers on the bird/s chest would have been fine but the rest of the image would have been really dark. You would have a lot of shadow recovery to do.
This would be a good time to use Manual exposure and watch for blinkies.
