Lifetime warranty often means the average lifetime of such products. SCAM

Either the lifetime of the product or the lifetime of the manufacturer, whichever is less.

Four years ago we built a new house and put all LED lights in with five year guarantee. Around six of them (out of 100) died, and yes, they did stand behind them, replaced every one of them for free. I am surprised too!

And what about that thirty year caulk. I can just see me going in to the home center after twenty five years with my receipt, the tube of used caulk and a wooden storm window with deteroriated glazing. It would be about like the guaranteed forever light bulbs.

I just purchased a LED bathroom light fixture. No bulbs to change, the entire thing is an LED. It has lifetime warranty. If it dies, I have to replace the entire fixture. I've never had a $60 lightbulb before. We'll see how long it lasts.

Cree is just down the street from where I live. They didn't invent the LED bulb, but the previous owner, Ruud Lighting, did and sold his company to Cree.

I just replaced 9 bucket fixtures in the kitchen and one bathroom with those wafer thin LEDs. They look better and give off more light. If they work for 5 years I'll be happy.
