On our road trip thru Wy to SD we stopped in the Black Hills and camped at Sheridan Lake, went to MT Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mtn, drove the Iron Mountain hwy and the Needles Hwy....this was my favorite part of the trip ....the Needles Hwy is AMAZING!! But don't take a large oversized vehicle on it...you won't fit thru the tunnels..lol

We also went to the Badlands and Sylvan Lake but will have to post those in another set.

Thanks for the memories Cindy. I was in the Dakotas years ago, working bird dogs and took advantage of the oportunity to visit many of the same places. Those presidents are something aren't they? Harry PS We were driving half ton trucks with horse trailers with no problems except for a couple of flat tires! Of course if the flat is on the trailer you have to unload the horses before you can change it - at least with the jacks we had. Bummer when you're on an Interstate!

Enjoyable set! Love that area, and would like to visit it again. I remember a Forrest service swimming area south of Hot Springs, S.D. that was the best (water was warm, with a waterfall!). Lots to see, and do in that area.

Some very well done photos. My wife and I went to that area a couple years ago and had a wonderful time. We went to several of the same places and included Devils Tower. That is some really rugged and beautiful country out there. Looking forward to perhaps making another trip there.

Thank you....it sure is some rugged country...I enjoyed it very much.

So glad I could bring some fun memories back...we used to have horses until just a few months ago so I understand exactly what you mean and we have had to unload for flat tires but never on the interstate...it's always been on nasty bumpy dirt roads!

Thanks Doug....I loved the scenery of that area more so than the Teton's for me.
