Unexplained weight gain.........

........since my wife's retirement.

It couldn't be her many baking experiments. Could it?

I'm not sure if this is the same as our British cousins call scones but that is what these are.

One of my favorite baked goods that she makes, not too sweet and with some coarse Kosher salt inside for a nice balance.

Food photography is very challenging for me, but I will come out the other side as a better photographer as I get a handle on it. Hopefully

Thanks QD. I bounced the flash off the ceiling for this one but it has an almost reddish tint. Looking at the shadow it looks like the flash was aimed slightly to the right and was probably affected by the cabinet on that side which is a natural wood finish but it might have caused the apparent coloring of the countertop which is actually white with flecks of dark and light green and reddish brown flecks mixed in.

Thanks Mike. Right now they are my favorite and I make sure my wife knows that. Quixdraw gave me some pointers to get better photos next time. That's not even close to the color of my countertop.

Thank you yorkiebyte. I tried reshooting but I'm still not happy enough with the results to repost. Thanks for the link I'll check ut out. I've enjoyed the photos you have posted so I'll definitely check your advice. Quixdraw also sent me some pointers that I'm working on too.
