Appreciating the Epson ET-2760

I used my HP printer to print on some DVDs for my son. He recorded a play, and I was making disks for the actors. As the last disk was finished, I saw that the colors had changed slightly. One the cartridges was running out of ink. Now I have to see which color I need and decide if I want to spend $50 for 1/4 ounce of colored water. Meanwhile the Epson has printed over 3,300 pages on the ink that came with the printer.

You seem surprised (and disappointed), that after all of that work the printer has performed, you need to replace some ink,!! "Nothing lasts forever".

Look at Amazon. Get a tank set for < $30.
Trouble is can't get just one color.

Got an Epson 2760 in March, loveit.

3,300 pages is impressive. Ink pricing is maybe one of the biggest scams on the planet.

One thing puzzles me: printer companies make their money on ink, so why sell tank printers that have much lower ink costs? Maybe they'll get us all hooked on tanks and then quadruple the price of the ink.

The HP hasn't done all that much work before one of the cartridges died. I just checked, and this printer has two cartridges - color and not color. There's no indication which is empty, but since the shading of color is off, it must be the color cartridge. I have none, so time to order.

EDIT: One thing I don't like about Amazon is their Search feature. I did a search for HP 5260C ink, and I got results for all kinds of HP printers. I've almost ordered the wrong item because of results like that.

Have you compared an eco tank printer compared to a non-eco tank printer? "Pay me now or pay me later."
