A morbidly obese mourning dove or a football with a face 😜😜😜😜
Looks like a White Wing Dove to me, or, less likely a Eurasian Collared Dove. Both show up in our yard near Ft. Worth. A side view would help.
Morning dove, sure looks puffed up.
You're referring to the shadow of the branch? Or the out-of-focus branch?
Collared dove?

Eurasian Collared Dove.
This identity of this bird is difficult to absolutely verify without seeing the distinguishing black neck ring (or collar) plus a side view of the wings.
But I can faintly see a black collar on the right side of this bird.
Eurasians eyes appear reddish whereas the Mourning Dove eyes are black. The eyes of this bird appear reddish to me.
When not in flight, the tail of the Eurasian is squared off whereas the tails of the Mourning and White-winged are more pointed. This bird clearly has a square tail which is white on the underside.
So from what is visible in the image, it is a Eurasian Collared Dove.
I hope this helps.

A mourning dove has a pointed tail, my suggestions both have much more square tails.
