Interesting Hoya plant and story with success for 52 years. My wife and I had this identical Hoya plant for about 45 years and we called it our wedding plant as well. Imagine that !!!

It started out life as a house plant in Boston. Then we moved it along with us to New Hampshire, Virginia, and finally Florida. In Florida we set it outside on the pool lanai area and it began to bloom for the first time ever. It bloomed for about seven years religiously. Then for whatever reason it got diseased, struggled, and died. We miss that plant.

Interesting Hoya plant and story with success for ... (show quote)

Wow! Thanks for your Hoya story and the similarity to ours, Hereford. Showed it to my wife and she loved it until the demise at the end. You no doubt understand about the strength of the fragrance even if it's outdoors. Ours is doing well, but I think it needs to be cut back and she doesn't so it's getting bigger and bigger.

Beautiful shot of a beautiful plant! Who knew these things can live so long? I have a couple of philodendrons in the same age group. The download is awesome.

I gave the Hoya plant to my wife during our first year of marriage 52 years ago. It hasn't bloomed for the past few years, so this was a most pleasant surprise. Hoya blooms have a very distinct, pleasant fragrance that fills the room. Recommend Downloading!
