Storm started in NE Ct at 5am. Light winds and rain. 72 degrees.
Ready as possible. Best wishes for Ct and RI as the day progresses.
Sending best wishes from Massachusetts.
Best wishes. We rode out Hurricane Bob about this time of year in 1991 on a sailboat at Port Washington on Long Island Sound. Fortunately, we were far enough west to avoid the heaviest winds - Port Jefferson further East was hit pretty hard and some boats suffered damage. The impending storm really sent us scurrying down the Sound.

The entire state will be impacted and coastal cities will get slammed pretty good probably by noon!

This will include our neighbors in New Hampshire!
I didn't feel like mowing the lawn anyway! I do hate losing my seven foot tomato plants!

No thanks! This will likely be the first real biggie since Bob. Coastal winds will approach 70mph and we expect to be in the 50mph as it slows going inland.
up here in southeastern vermont ... this thing might actually get up our way.

I'm in New Haven right now and the simple answer is yes. It's been raining since the wee hours, but can't see or hear much wind.
The storm has been downgraded to a strong tropical storm and hasn't made landfall yet.
Yesterday they were showing landfall just west of us which would have put us on the strong side of the eye. That won't happen as it looks like the eye will end up making landfall along the CT-RI border and there isn't much of the storm on the eastern side of the eye.
Most of the rainfall is on the western side right now. Although a pretty good band of thunderstorms rotated through Boston a little earlier this morning.

That's what I'm getting. Should be different a couple hours from now!
Good luck from someone who has been there and done that. Twice in one year from much stronger storms.
Thanks. I was there several days ago with a dear tennis friend and safety for all was a factor on my mind.
As LBJ said years ago, I hope you "hunker down" and weather the storm with only minor inconveniences.

It's now 1-pm. Rain and light to moderate wind in N.E Ct at this time. Very occasional gusts to about 25-30 mph. So far,at least, the "storm" is not an unusual event. According to what I see on radar the storm will be lessening this afternoon.
