After receiving my Sony RX10M4 camera and noticed that there was no manual or instruction or step-up manuals or cd's that came with the camera and the only way to obtain these manuals was to print out over 500 pages for the manual and 40 pages for the instruction manual I started looking on the internet to see if there was a company that sells printed camera manuals for cameras. I found a Computer located in the UK called OTC
(www.printed-manual.com) they have ever camera or camcorder manual made. Purchased these manuals and within 10 days I received them. Only problem I had with them was that there was two manuals with the camera and only 1 index which should have had two indexes in both manuals.

They emailed me and asked me how I liked the manuals and could they improve on these manuals. I told them that it would be nice if there was a second index on the second book according to the pages in this book. They told me that they are taking this under consideration and will get back to me. Within a few days received another email from them saying that they are going to replace both manuals with a new and improved index per each book and set the pages accordingly. I was never expecting this to happen and within 10 days the new manuals arrived and they were better than the ones I had ordered from them the first time.

If you are needing manuals for your camera please order from these people you can not go wrong. They charged my $29.00 for 2 manuals 500 plus pages and $10.00 for the instruction manual plus $10.00 S&H from the UK. I will order from them again when I get another camera.

I just use the PDF version.
(Searches are faster too.)

While some people prefer the paper manuals, which is quite understandable, I agree with you. I find the PDF version, which I have loaded onto several devices, more convenient. With my current camera and several previous ones that I have sold, I never took the original manuals out of the cellophane wrapper.

Agreed. I used to like having the paper, but finally moved away from it.
PDF manuals are in their own folder on our primary computer. Oven, microwave, lawn mower, TVs, ...almost everything.

I don't use the paper manuals but still prefer to have them. The reason I don't use them because I am afraid of making them dirty or damaged.

There is one problem with a PDF download that was not brought up. Using a PDF download file you have to carry a computer around with you until you get to know the camera or use it for a backup reference. Then what happens if you have a PDF file on a computer an you have no internet to access it then what do you do? This way you can access the manual anytime you need it from your camera bag.

Only if one feels the need to have a manual when shooting.
I might look at the manual maybe twice a year? for a particular question.
I already read it. I have the camera set the way i want.
What would I need from it requiring me to have one in my back pocket at all times?
I can check something when I get home if I need.

If the PDF has been downloaded to your laptop, tablet or other device, you don't need internet access to read it. You are reading it from your device, not on line.

Some people put the PDF in their tablet and/or phone.
Both of which will usually fit in a camera bag.

Plus you can usually find a PDF in English (or can edit the file so all you keep is the English version), and can control the type size when you're reading it. The printed manual is often in 18 languages in minuscule type. I can't speak for others, but my proficiency is very limited in the Cyrillic script languages.

I rarely even find the French/Spanish/German/Italian... portions of any use & I can read a (tiny) bit of them.
Even Cyrillic is more useful to me than Chinese/Japanese.

I have come across a few obscure bits of kit where the 'manual' (instruction sheet) didn't include English. But these have generally been simple enough to work out.

I have been known to print out relevant sections from a manual & carry the print outs, when I don't want to bring a tablet. I wouldn't bother carrying the whole manual thats often as heavy as the tablet!
