I like using Picasa in combination with G mail. just pick the pictures( from the same folder)you want to send then pick email.. It also gets my pictures off to the printer with no problems.

If you are looking for a service to send multiple images, files etc.,
I would suggest you check out "YouSendIt". It is way less expensive than ACDSee Pro 5... and much simpler. Mj

Just FYI, Google does have a limit on overall size of images that can be sent as attachments to an email. I tried yesterday to send too many images and got a message to downsize. I use Google Chrome. The limit was 25MB.

I currently use AOL and it is very easy to send/attach pictures. If pictures are only going to be viewed on your computer monitor AOL uses their compression method to reduce the size but only allows 12 pictures to be sent. If you send the pictures full size for printing you are limited to 30MB total. I often like to send more than 12 for simple viewing and not have to send multiple e-mails. Any suggestions? TIA

I use a free file transfer service: https://www.wetransfer.com/
You zip your pics into a single file folder and upload (max 2 GB) to the site. You specify the emails of the recipients and add a message. They send an email to each recipient with a down load link. They keep your upload for two weeks and notify you when each recipient downloads the file.
No muss, no fuss. You can then send high res, high quality photo files without whatever file attachment size your email provider imposes. Bonus: the art on the site is rather interesting. Enjoy.

I am using Picasa with some success. I am technically challenged and find it difficult to make my way around Picasa3 (for uploading albums and editing pictures) and Web Picasa (where I send my pictures and/or albums for limited access to friends and family). Is there another free site with these features that may be easier to negotiate?
It's going to be tough to find anything easier than Picassa. If you want to send pics in smaller size and also keep the load on your computer down just start a Picassa folder and pick the pictures you want transfered and hit the export button on the bottom of the screen. This will transfer your pics to that folder and you can send them by opening that folder with your attachment/browse button and send them on their way. For sending them for processing use the Shop button on the bottom of the screen and it will give you a number of sites such as shutterfly where you can download your pics directly to where you want to send them for processing. I don't explain things very well but will be glad to give you any help I can---just keep asking...........

I have Incredimail and can send pictures thru e-mail after downsizing them as small as 1x1 . Once I drop them into email I just take my mouse and click on the edges and pull the picture into a much smaller size. I have sent six or eight at the same time by using that method. I also can take a small picture that I have gotten thru email and save it to file and make it bigger by clicking on the edges and draw the picture to a much bigger size. I have no problem sending such emails with pictures.

I also use Picasa and find it a convenient way to share photos. In Picasa just select your photos, click upload tab at bottom; give album a name, select size or use default; select who to share with, ie, nobody, anyone with a link or all. Then just click the upload tab.

Then just send the link to those you want to share with. This is an example:

https://picasaweb.google.com/100816217821038314261/PortovenereItalySunriseSunset

You can always view "your" albums by clicking on the "web album" tab at top of Picasa.

As info. I recently uploaded 550 photos of a ICOYC (International Council of Yacht Clubs) cruise in the US San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands. Then forwarded the links to participants from USA, Italy, France, England, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, etc. They could then download what they choose.

I am with BruceWells try Dropbox.com it's free and it's so easy to upload just drag and drop to a folder in you computer and you can invite as many as you want to share your photos. the nice thing with dropbox is the more you invite that is not on Dropbox they add more space to your intial free storage size. Try

I write a monthly newsletter for the Photographers' Formulary in Condon, Montana. The newsletters are illustrated with photographs. Here's what I do to transmit the photos.

Someone suggested getting a Gmail account. That's good, but the real problem is usually the size of the file.

To send photos via email do this:

Select JPEG format
Use medium resolution (5/10)
Select either 72 dots per inch or 96 dos per inch (dpi)
Use dimensions of no more than 5"x7"

This makes pleasant viewing on a computer monitor and makes for fast transmission.

There are few things more irritating to a viewer than to receive a 10 mb image with dimensions of 30"x40."

Make your image small, easy to transmit, and pleasant to view, and you can send dozens at a time on Google's Gmail.

AOL is just fine, but it does have its limitations.
