Good start but the background is too bright. Modify the light to accentuate the curves of the model. Light modifiers like grids and snoots can help with this. To my eye the whole scene is over bright. Google Michael Zelbel. He is a master at lighting and can give you plenty of examples of easy lighting setups.

Chip we all start somewhere,
DanielB has some good suggestions
My suggestion (this helped me) is study the Old Masters paintings to see where their light is coming from, then practice starting with one light the after you get the one light mastered add another, most of my portrait, nude work and Cheese Cake were done using no more than three lights, every time you add a light you can create a problem.
There is so much to learn so start simple!!!!
The attached image is two lights main light from camera left and a hair light from above , main light was probably a Octobox with diffusion, hair light 8' above was An AlienB B400 set at approx 1/2 power with a 10° honeycomb grid

Beautifully done, Chip. I agree with the others about the background being a bit bright. I love her chest tattoo, super creative and beautifully done songbirds with musical note stylized wings.

Everyone has a choice of how they wish to adorn their bodies Men And Women.
It's your choice to look or not look if you don't like it so be it.
I'M enjoy seeing well executed artful tattoos on men and women
The there are some !! well they just don't look good at all.
I told my daughters four of them if you decide to get a tattoo make damned sure its tasteful and artistic!!! because you have to live with it the rest of your life. So far none of the have.

Maybe 1 in 1000 tattoos is artful. The rest are dirt that doesn't wash off. If the owner wouldn't wear the identical shirt or pants or whatever with the exact same design and colors every day for the rest of their life, and you know they wouldn't, then they shouldn't stupidly get it tattooed on their skin. Except for the 1 out of thousands it isn't art, it is a sign of gullibility and foolish money habits.

Some of the other guys have mentioned that the bright background is distracting.

Some ways to eliminate that:
a. Use a darker backdrop or wall. One can even produce a black background from a white one by judicious placement of the lights.
b. Place the model further away from the background to get varying degrees of grey.
c. In post, use an editing tool to darken backgrounds or vignette corners. I use Nikon's Capture NX2 for my D800s as it's the last camera I can use this software with. Nikon's collaboration with NIK ended and this software was obsoleted with newer Nikon cameras. In your first image I used a "Control Point" to darken and equalize the upper right corner. The newer Nikon Capture Studio NX has limited use of "Control Points" but does allow the reading of new cameras' NEF files from my D810s.

Using "Control Points" eliminates my use of layers and masking and operations take mere minutes or even seconds.

Be well! Ed

Ditto to Leo B's comments. Why any woman wants to disfigure
her body is beyond me, but she has the right to do so -- and I
have the right to express my displeasure.

Finally have some time to get back to this. I agree. now that it's mentioned, that I should tone down the background a bit. I shot these in my cellar which only is about 6ft high. I used a regular light on my ceiling with a white cloth over it for sort of a fill but I can see it needs to be diffused more. Thanks for the tips!
