Just a thought.
Every since I have been a member of UHH I have wondered why folks who post pictures seldom tell us what equipment they are using. Most will give you the info if you asked them and thats great however, it would be a plus if every one would take a few moments to let us have a little more info about the capture. How many times have I seen a really wonderful shot and wonder just how that person got that, what equipment, ISO, F stop and so on. I know that you cannot make this mandatory but maybe we can encourage it. What do you think? Just a thought.
If you need to know, just ask. Seems simple to me.

Thats true and most will respond. Thanks MT.
some people only give details, when they think it"s important to the submission.
others want us to figure it out for ourselves.

When "store original" is checked, that lets us download and look at the metadata. Does that also cause the image to be saved on the server? If every image had to be saved, that could eat up space. I know that some pictures are not removed from the server.

Mt, must be getting cold out there, I didn't recognize you with the coat and hat on...snow yet?
When you see a beautiful cake how important what kind of bowl was it mixed in or what kind of pan it was cooked in.
Taking a picture is the same. A good photographer can take any camera and create a good picture. The old saying goes knowledge is power.
If the submitter is asking for critique or assistance with a problem, the info may be needed, but just to show their work, I don't think it is necessary unless asked.

LOL Its my winter avatar from last year! Icicles in the mousetache and all!
Absolutely agree. I am on UHH daily. Two things always bug me. Not enough info and the pretentious, arrogant, condescending responses and advice.

I maintain that information is not important because no one is going to take the same photo in the same place. Sorry, I'm not a trivia buff, but now at least if I want to know, the computer will tell me what the trivia was when I look at the photo. In the film days, I never kept track of any f-stops etc because I probably wouldn't encounter the same situation again. I can see where it might be useful in a studio where you want to get the same results every time, but for general shooting, I don't see a need.

I think you once said that you had just finished using your snowblower when that pic was taken.
