Biometric collection and identification
devices were seized last week during the
Taliban’s offensive.

The Taliban have seized U.S. military biometrics devices
that could aid in the identification of Afghans who assisted
coalition forces, current and former military officials have
told The Intercept.

The devices, known as HIIDE, for Handheld Interagency
Identity Detection Equipment, were seized last week during
the Taliban’s offensive, according to a Joint Special
Operations Command official and three former U.S. military
personnel, all of whom worried that sensitive data they
contain could be used by the Taliban. HIIDE devices contain
identifying biometric data such as iris scans and
fingerprints, as well as biographical information, and are
used to access large centralized databases. It’s unclear how
much of the U.S. military’s biometric database on the
Afghan population has been c*********d.

While billed by the U.S. military as a means of tracking

terrorists and other insurgents, biometric data on Afghans
who assisted the U.S. was also widely collected and used in
identification cards, sources said.

“We processed thousands of locals a day, had to ID, sweep
for suicide vests, weapons, intel gathering, etc.” a U.S.
military contractor explained. “[HIIDE] was used as a
biometric ID tool to help ID locals working for the coalition.”

A spokesperson for the Defense Intelligence Agency
referred questions to the Office of the Secretary of Defense,
which did not respond to a request for comment.

An Army Special Operations veteran said it’s possible that
the Taliban may need additional tools to process the HIIDE
data but expressed concerns that Pakistan would assist
with this. “The Taliban doesn’t have the gear to use the data
but the ISI do,” the former Special Operations official said,
referring to Pakistan’s spy agency, Inter-Services
Intelligence. The ISI has been known to work closely with
the Taliban.

1. The article says they seized the units . It doesn’t say how . And for sure the identification data base is not available to them now .

Because the other choices were even worse . They picked the candidate fir one purpose only- who could most easily defeat trump. Anything else didn’t matter.

No, others were better. Just like previously there were candidates better than trump.

Who was better? Biden was chosen for one reason - he was a middle of the roader that’s was best positioned to beat trump .
No other reason,

No, I don't think that I would have expressed it the way that he did but for democrats being first in breaking perceived barriers is a big deal, so being the first to elect a woman as VP is a huge deal, a black woman is an even bigger deal. Harris never had an impressive record either in politics or as a DA. She was helped a great deal earlier in her career by her then "boyfriend" Willie Brown a political power broker in California. As a Senator she was not impressive and as a p**********l candidate she was even less so, she could not even win in her home state's primary. She was polling at under 4% when she dropped out of the p**********l race....

She was not selected as VP because she was the best person for the job, she was selected because of her g****r and the color of her skin.

I agree with you on that. Especially in regards sensitive or potentially damaging data or devices.

And now the Taliban religion-based regime is well-supplied with small arms, trucks, helicopters, planes, data on citizens, and ‘sensitive’ equipment that may (will ?) be used against us.

And Good F’n Luck getting many other countries to cooperate with our “Nation Building” efforts . . . .

Well DAMN!!! That’s awful. The Commander in Chief should be impeached and then put on trial for aiding the enemy. Hang the SOB immediately. That would be Biden wouldn’t it?

Darn it! I have been looking for a picture of the little princess all dressed up. I didn’t think to ask you. That was from her last birthday I imagine. Nice dress.

No, he is 100% correct and you know it.

So if he is 100% correct that makes you 100% a liar.
