My daughter-in-law needs to prepare a slide show for a funeral and was wondering about a projector, preferably under $100. Any suggestions? Compatible with a Mac Book Air.
Might be hard to find for under $100. You might consider a rental.
Most churches & probably funeral homes have one. Ask them.

How do you show slides on a TV?

I have Roku for my TV. One of the included apps with Roku is for casting from a smartphone. I installed a casting app on my phone from PlayStore and can cast images and videos from the phone. Both the TV and my phone have to be connected to the same WiFi signal.
Took a while to figure it out, but it works fine.
If the TV has a USB port you may be able to plug in a USB thumb drive full of images...or perhaps the TV may have an SD card slot.

You use it as a monitor with a slide program on the PC.
Scan any film-based slides.
This gives the advantage of being able to provide copies to any who desire them.
Thanks everyone. That is very helpful.

Check with the Funeral Director they can probably point you the right direction.

If the computer and TV both have HDMI ports, you should be able to simply connect them via the cable.
You may have to change the input on the TV to the HDMI port and/or the output on the laptop to an external screen.
I did this with my HP laptop to a TV. I don’t think I had to change anything.
You might be able to create an MS PowerPoint presentation and put it on a flash drive if the TV also has a USB port.

As others have said, churches and funeral homes generally have them. Rentals are available in most areas.
A $100 video projector isn’t very good… if it even exists. The lamps in video projectors are generally more costly than that!

Down load them to the TV and blutooth to the TV, if you have a smart TV.

I have done many. Just finished one for my best friend that passed a month ago. I put it on DVD and simply hooked that up to the churches system. Had over 100 people there, went off with out a hitch, even got applause at the end. An inexpensive DVD player is only 50 or 60 bucks, no need to buy a projector. When making the video, timing and music is extremely important.
