Only 9761 of these "Dream Cars" were made and sold in 1954. Apparently less than 10% still exist. These "Mini
Lincolns" came with every known (then) option and were considered one of the most crisply styled autos of the early 50's. The Sun Valley was powered by a 256CU IN V8 (161 HP)

A very forward looking design in its day. Looks like a Mercury. I always liked the Mercs (and studebakers) despite being a GM fan.

A friend of my dad's had one of these, and even back then (before I could drive) I thought it was a beautiful and luxurious car. I still think so. Thanks for bringing back that memory.

Brings back memories. They sure don't make 'em like that any more. Now us old... er, "classic" folks all know how to set the radio but can someone tell me about the knobs in front of the odometer (behind the steering wheel)? I don't recall ever seeing that before. (Then again, maybe I have and those memory brain cells were overwritten some photographic thing, or most likely, useless trivia)

I believe they were for the ventilation/heater function, controlling the amount of air/heat dispersed.

Very nice. I remember them when they were new. I can still determine the age of old cars because I was so interested in them when I was a kid.

I like it better now than I did in '54. Excellent photos.
