The pictographs of the Great Gallery are the most impressive rock art sight I've seen. It is 180 feet long and 12 feet tall. It has multiple 6 foot tall human shaped figures plus many animals also. Recent studies have dated the rock art at 1,000 to 2,000 years ago.

Hunters holding a spear. The animals look like sheep.

This group of figures is called the holy ghosts.

This pic amazes me every time. If you zoom in, your looking at 2,000 year old finger prints!

Thanks Minitman. Horseshoe Canyon is part of Canyonlands NP. From Hanksville Utah drive north 20 miles on hwy 24. Turn right (east) on a dirt road and go another 30 miles.
That is impressive and wonderful to see it has not been defaced.
Very, very very impressive
Nicely done, Matt. I should mention that it's a bit of a walk to get to the art panels once you get to the parking area. Not difficult going in, a bit more coming back out as there is a short, steep, deep sand climb to get back up to the parking area.
These are most interesting, Matt. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks JRiepe. It's in the middle of nowhere which helps keep away the idiots.
