I really enjoy these Free Weekend posts. My submission this weekend has a message as in the Pacific Northwest we have hot and sunny weather and many people flock to the rivers and lakes to sun and swim. Unfortunately we have folks that get in or on the water the day turns to tragedy. Drownings occur every weekend this time of year.
In some instances while children may be attired in life jackets, the adults aren't.
My son-in-law Bob never leaves the dock without a safety lecture and all on board attired in life jackets. My grand kids have grown up with safety firmly in their minds. I wear a PFD even when I am wading in the river fishing.
They are in their 20's now, here are some file photos from when they were safety minded kids.
