anybody updated firmware on a Tamron 150-600 G2 to use on a Z6
I believe you need a TAP on console or send back to Tamron ?
any info appreciated as considering buying lens at reasonable price to use on my Z6 and I know the lens has not been updated

as I understand it the Tamron 150-600mm will work on Z6 after firmware update but only in manual focus ?
does any of the team know if my assumption is correct ?

I have a Tamron 150-600 G2 that I updated to use on a Z6 and it works fine, auto focus and all and yes you need a tap in console, I borrowed one from a friend.

You will need the tap-in hardware, but it is very easy and I use it on the Z6ii, so there you go! Love the lens...

I went to my local photo store to help. They had a Tamron Tap-In Console to update my lens, They did it on the spot and it was free. Love my 150-600 G2 Lens!

Installing the update is for the lens. It doesn't matter what model camera, as long as it is the right brand and mount.
