I'm not sure Edward would approve. Nice shot.

On the contrary, Edward would have approved heartily!
Nice work with the gray tones.
Might as well subdue the sky area to very dark if it's not the center of interest because it is competing now.

What if re-cropped to move the models to the left third? I'm curious about the background.

A very passionate scene.... Excellent all around.... A contest entry.....

Disagree!! The Boken highlights bring out the subject matter
Nice image but I would crop off the left third portion and add a darkening gradient from the lower left to upper right, to the remaining background.
Be well! Ed

Great image!!!!
I agree with Fotoartist on the background. The bright left side immediately draws your eye away from the ladies.

For any picture, mine or someone else's, I will use the edge of my hand or edges of thumb-forefinger to crop an area of the picture. Is it needed? Does it improve or detract from the main 'focus' or the rest of the image? - When in doubt, crop it out. (Or, in this case, reduce this distracting hot spot.)
So, I strongly agree.
Thanks All for your constructive comments.
First, an apology; I had originally presented this in the Photo Galleryโฆ only to be told by Admin that it had been moved to this category. I can only assume that two people about to kiss in an outside setting, wearing period clothes while sitting on a period sofa = an NSFW image?
Second, the Composition. It would indeed be a sad old World if we all agreed about everything. I have several different versions of this concept, including some where Iโve cropped tightly to exclude the sky and tree branches bokeh on the left. This however was the draft version that the Client selected. I think I appreciate why they made their choice, and I appreciate those differing opinions expressed here.
