Taken on color print film and scanned.
Neat.
The first shot looks like piles of wood.

You are right. It does. I never thought of that.
Looking at the last picture, the next slide is going to be very big and damaging.

That it is! I would not want to be standing anywhere near there.
Excellent set, John! I would put #3 on the wall.

Mike, you are too generous! I posted them because I thought the subject was different. What I found really interesting was the variation in color of the sedimentary layers of rocks; a chronology of plant and animal life of the region over the last 10,000 years. That whole area was once part of Lake Agassiz, a huge lake, larger than all of the great lakes combined.
Anyway, I'm glad that you liked the photo. The negatives that I scanned, had, unfortunately, deteriorated over the years and it was difficult reworking the scans to duplicate the colors of the originals. I am still not that good at post processing.

I notice on my phone that the sky is pink in the 4th photo. An image that will definitely need some work.
Do you know if there is a way to delete or replace a photo once posted?
Nice photos. Are there any fossils to be found in those sedimentary rock layers?

Thanks, Chief! Yes, although I don't recall seeing any at the time (it was years ago), fossils of cephalopods and snails are quite common. I used to see these when as a young man I went swimming in a limestone quarry near the town of Tyndall, Manitoba. The same rocks are exposed there.
Great shots John of very interesting sedimentary rock layers
Nice photos and interesting rock formations.
