Purchased an item for the first time from MPB. I got a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L lens. It cost $944 in “Like New” condition. It is in perfection condition and came in the box with all accessories included and the warranty card. I registered it without a problem. I am still shocked i was able to purchase what is basically a brand new lens for such a great price. It is normally $1349 new, if you can actually find one. Terrific lens at a terrific price for my EOS R5. I will definitely buy from them again.

They seem to be good people. Have purchased quite a few items from them, all excellent shape.

Everyone has individual anecdotes regarding customer service. My own experience dealing with MPB was far from satisfactory, so I'm now wary of their advertised claims regarding condition of their goods and I'll just stick with BH, Adorama, & AllensCamera. For me, transparency and responsibility are paramount.

You can get lucky sometime. I brought a brand new, never been sold, Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 lens from KEH for around $600.

I buy locally when I can, but I have both bought and sold, cameras and lenses, with MPB and have found their prices and evaluation of equipment condition to be both fair and accurate. I will gladly continue to do business with them.

My “go to” dealers for used photo gear:

(no particular order)

KEH
MPB
B&H
Adorama
Robert’s/UsedPhotoPro

I’ve had success and satisfaction with all of these.

I have bought and sold with MPB and have been very pleased with their products and their customer service. I have just purchased a P/L 12mm f1.4 lens in excellent condition from MPB for $500 less than a new one. Roberts is very good as well.

If we buy and sell enough, regardless of who from or to, there will be eventual pluses and minuses. The goal, like with my submarine days of wanting surfaces to at least equal the dives, is to have positive experiences. MPB, KEH, and Robert’s are all a good place to start.
