Youre on the right thread, Tim. Hershey had quite a history. I had not seen his mansion. I have seen the Hershey Medical Center and know he is responsible for providing a top notch medical center and the education of physicians and nurses. The mansion (and the Hershey Gardens) are spectacula. Nice work on capturing the mansion.
Thanks, Pat. Glad you enjoyed.
Mr. Hershey actually had another gentleman help layout what was to become the town of Hershey and built houses for his workers at the chocolate factory. All of those houses had indoor plumbing, electricity and steam heat, also from boilers from the factory. Keep in mind, this was the early 1900's...like '06-'08. He was then, and remained, an honest businessman that realized you can't get good labor if you don't take care of them and help them achieve their goals. Such an inspiration in so many ways.

Great Story and Pics Tim..
Thanks, Lesley. Glad you enjoyed.
At one time, the mansion was surrounded by beautiful gardens, but Mr. Hershey turned the lower half of the mansion over to the company after his wife died, and most of the gardens no longer exist.
Here are some pictures from one of the remaining ones.
