UVs are just 4 protective purposes & dosen't really change anything in the pixes. CPLs, create awhole new perspective in a photo. My pixes looking beautiful.

It's too bad you haven't shared any of these beautiful photographs with us.

If the last idea doesn't work, try using the shelf liner or bottle cap rubber waffle (or plastic) shelf stuff as a gripper. Be sure to get the back of the CP lens not the front element. 2nd- leave the UV filter off- any type of glass or ?? does nothing but degrade your glass lens. Why spend the $$$ for a super lens and then put a piece of glass or wavy glass in front of it? I dealt with glass for many years and most glass is not really good unless you spend the "BIG BUCKS" for a super brand filter. If you are careful with your lenses and camera you don't need it anyway- Unless you throw your equipment around.

We were discussing this phenomena in another thread.

On page 2 the OP thanked those who helped, and explained how he ultimately solved the problem.

Yet, three pages later folks are still trying to help solve the original issue.

UHH to the rescue! A day late and a dollar short.

Night all

Your suggestion of using a rubberband has worked for me several times. I now keep a couple of them in my bag. I use the PF alone by itself.

Lens Band, in different colors, is sold by Adorama Camera as i tightens up the adj ring on lenses.

Folks don’t read through the posts in a thread. As pointed out, they, sometimes, don’t even read the OP’s post thoroughly before responding.

There is no stuck filter involved here. Try reading the complete original post before writing a lengthy reply about something entirely else :-(

Nothing is stuck or jammed. The OP has described the situation quite clearly and accurately. Verrrry easy to understand. The entire assembly is *rotating freely* in both directions, so where is anyone possibly reading that anything is stuck ?

The OP is unable to remove the CP from the lens as I recall. Only the front half of the CP is supposed to rotate for its intended purpose. The other half screws onto the lens and is SUPPOSED to unscrew from the lens.

I've had no problems w/my CPLs as they come off very easy. I sometimes put the UV on but hardly as i take care of all my lenses. When in my truck they're left on the floor & just roll around

I sometime have this problem. Use a cheap non-slip vinyl lid opener to hold the outside lens and hand-hold the other. Works to solve my problem and very light-weight accessory to carry in my travel kit.
