Several of you have asked how I’m doing. I can still shoot my iPhone sitting down and hope to post a few new shots in the future to stay involved. Here’s an oldie for now.

While you were reading this, I ate that entire pastry. 😀

Thank you, Jill. That’s one I shot with my DSLR a while back. I hope to take something new in a restaurant to post over the next few weeks. I always enjoy hearing from you.

Thanks, Irene, I’m glad you liked it. The problem with food photography is that I eat everything I shoot. The next group I’ll be joining will be weight watchers.

I am looking forward to the meal. I know you will be sharing it with your wife.

My wife and I have been going out to lunch together every Saturday since we married in 1965. When the foodie section opened in May, I began taking pictures of my lunch with my iPhone. I’ve already posted all the ones I took and need to work on some new ones. Part of my problem is that my hands shake now so it will be a challenge. I plan to put my elbows on the table and anchor my arms like a tripod. I’m hoping for the best.

Thank you for your kind comment, Joe. I’m still a little shaky but determined to be back with all my buddies again. It gives me a good goal to work towards.

Hi, Gary, it’s great to hear from you. Not sure of the real name but we always call them lobster claws. I think Rip Van Winkle ate one or two of these before he fell asleep. Does it to me every time.

Lobster claws/rolls works but the pastry itself is schviadel

A sfogliatella, is a shell-shaped filled Italian pastry native to Campania. Sfogliatella means "small, thin leaf/layer", as the pastry's texture resembles stacked leaves
